Richard Scott Draughon is the President, founder and Chief Executive Counsel for Draughon® Professional Association, one of the largest technology law firms in the State of Florida. He works with the Boards of Directors of several technology firms in structuring technology transactions and implementing intellectual property management programs. He also advises clients on technology disputes, joint venture arrangements, and corporate ownership and employment programs. In addition to more than twelve years practicing technology law, Scott has ten years of professional and management experience in the technology industry. Scott established Draughon® Professional Association in 1989, several years after completing his Juris Doctor and LL.M degrees from the George Washington National Law Center. He earned his B.A. and M.B.A. degrees from the University of North Florida and is a native of Jacksonville. He has been active with the University of Florida College of Law in supporting the development of an intellectual property law program and has served as an adjunct professor at the College of Law, as well as the University of North Florida. He has published in the areas of taxation, securities and labor law, as well as technology law issues. Scott has been an outspoken advocate for government policies and legislation favoring the technology industry. He participates on the Advisory Board of Empower America, the nation's foremost pro-growth free market action organization. Scott is also an Associate Member of The Heritage Foundation, a research and educational institute for formulating and advocating conservative public policies. He frequently contributes articles addressing legislative initiatives affecting the technology industry and is a frequent guest speaker for industry groups interested in technology law and policy issues.<BR><BR>
